Senior Engineer, Systems & Integrations
The Team
You are joining a growing team that is responsible for motion planning, controls, and behaviors for Outrider’s autonomous trucks. This team is collaborative and committed to continuous improvement. Team members use tools such as off-the-shelf simulation software and data analytics to understand the performance of the product at scale in diverse situations, and they maintain a state-of-the-art motion planning stack by routinely studying new techniques from the research community. The Role
The Senior Software Engineer will report to the manager of the Autonomy Sensors & Integration team. This role will support the development, integration, deployment, and testing of autonomy algorithms and sensor systems used on the robot.
This position requires rapid software prototyping skills, hardware integration and profiling skills, attention to detail and the ability to succeed in unstructured environments.
This is a hybrid position located in Brighton, CO.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement, test, deploy, monitor, and support on-robot software algorithms in clean, performant, modern C++ and CUDA
- Create and enhance offline tooling in C++, Python and other languages as appropriate
- Evaluate and monitor sensor performance in test and deployment environments
- Deploy neural networks on-robot using CUDA, TensorRT and other technologies
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives
Qualifications
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Deep experience writing, debugging, and optimizing modern C++ in complex systems
- Professional experience in robotics and/or autonomous driving applications
- Professional experience with ROS/ROS2 and other robotics middlewares
- Familiarity with Linux development and target environments
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated strong leadership and people skills
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience with Python, bash and other scripting languages
- Experience with Docker, cross-compilation and containerized development
- Experience visualizing robotics data
- Deep familiarity with modern C++ (C++17, C++20)
- Deep familiarity with Git and large multi-repository codebases
- Experience with modern automotive sensors: cameras, lidar, ToF, radar, ultrasonic etc.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $135,850 - $184,752
