Job Description
About the role:
As a Machine Learning Engineer focusing on Computer Vision & Lidar perception, you will design and develop machine learning pipelines and models that support the real-time perception stack running onboard each Mapless vehicle. You will be considered one of the technical leaders who guides current and future architectures and drives their efficient implementation from training all the way to execution on the vehicle. You will work closely with the Perception team to integrate and process sensor data for various fusion, detection, tracking, or segmentation tasks.
What you will do:
Develop core deep learning pipelines for efficient training and testing of Lidar & camera-based perception
Implement and improve on the state-of-the-art for obstacle detection, classification, tracking, sensor fusion, segmentation, scene flow, or related perception problems
Develop sensor data pre-processing methods (e.g., filtering, outlier removal, denoising)
Develop methods, KPIs, and tests to improve the performance of the perception pipeline
Quantify sensor failures and insufficiencies (e.g., adverse weather conditions) in collaboration with safety engineering
Requirements
Required:
Masters or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a related field
3+ years of relevant industry work experience
Experience designing, training, and analyzing neural networks for at least one of the following applications: Object detection, Image segmentation, Sensor fusion, Scene flow, Traffic light detection, or Multitask learning
Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
Experience with PyTorch or other deep learning frameworks
Preferred:
Proven track record of publications in relevant conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS, ICCV, ICLR,…)
Experience in TensorRT and porting deep learning algorithms from Python to C++
Experience with neural network optimizations, e.g., pruning, quantization, etc.
